MKM Legal Partners

Law Office | Next Level Söğütözü, Ankara, Turkey

For the new office of MKM Legal Partners, located in Next Level Söğütözü, Ankara, originally based in Beyoğlu, Istanbul;

In order to break away from the conventional masculine perception of law offices, the works of Amedeo Modigliani, an Italian expressionist painter who built a bridge between Cubism and Art Deco, were chosen.

The design aims to create a modern, bright, and tranquil office environment where both clients and employees can feel safe and at ease, moving away from the heavy and formal atmosphere typically associated with traditional law firms. In this context, the principle of “less but better” was adopted, favoring functional yet visually striking design elements.

In the executive area, a desk and console crafted from black ash natural veneer add a sense of weight and authority to the space, while slender anthracite leather chairs surrounding the desk create a balanced composition. In the general office area, a spacious and comfortable workspace has been established; a custom-designed pouf and lounge chair with a side table, upholstered in felt, bring warmth to the predominantly gray-toned environment.

As a conceptual element, the words of Marcus Aurelius—the renowned Roman Emperor and philosopher who devoted himself to duty without expecting reward or fame, despite his indifference to the metaphysical—are reflected within the space. His quote, “The consequences of anger are far more grievous than its causes,” faces the executive desk from a minimalist console in a gray, shadowless, and clear form, repeating this timeless wisdom for all who enter the space in search of justice.

On the left wall, Amedeo Modigliani’s female portraits are featured to further soften and dissolve the masculine air traditionally associated with law offices.

In conclusion, the project successfully achieved maximum aesthetics, quality, and comfort within a minimal budget.
